Getting started with WireMe
So you want to conduct a financial transaction with WireMe. You're in the right place. Let's get started!
What is WireMe used for?
What WireMe Doesn't Do
To begin, lets clarify what WireMe isn't. WireMe is not a payment platform you'd use with your friends and family. If you need to pay your friend for picking up the tab at dinner last night, you should use an app like Venmo or Zelle. In scenarios like this, the transaction protections that WireMe provides you are overkill and will serve more as a hinderance than a benefit.
What WireMe does
WireMe is designed for transactions with individuals beyond your immediate circles, specifically for business purposes. You still trust these people, but not like friends or family. For example, your Airbnb host- you trust them to have clean sheets on your bed and provide the amenities that were listed but they're not your friend. You're not taking them out to lunch or sharing your secrets with them.
Crypto Wallet
Before using WireMe it is recommended that you set up a crypto wallet in your browser. This will allow you to fully use WireMe and all its features.
One of the most popular and stable wallets for browsers is MetaMask. Here's a guide on how to set that up. All it takes is 5 minutes.
How do I use WireMe?
Creating an Agreement
The primary way you can use WireMe is through creating Agreements. An Agreement represents a transaction between you and another party. It serves as a financial escrow so funds are kept safe while your business is being conducted. See the Creating an Agreement guide for more.
Servicing an Agreement
Once your Agreement is created it will need to be serviced. Agreements are fully automated and can be completed in mere minutes. They are also decentralized so nobody has access to your funds but you. Not even WireMe can access your funds. See the Servicing an Agreement guide for more.
Viewing my Agreements
After creating Agreements you can view them in the Dashboard view. This gives you a high level overview of all Agreements you've created. The guide for viewing your Agreements is in the works!
Appending an Agreement
Business has a habit of changing over time. Perhaps what you set in the Agreement when you created it needs to be changed. Don't worry WireMe can adapt to your changing business needs! The guide for appending Agreements is in the works!
